  13. This is an Amiga port of Figlet, an excellent ASCII font rendering
  14. program described below.

  16. This Amiga version is a little different from the original program.
  17. The argument parsing is changed to the AmigaDOS 2.0 "ReadArgs" style
  18. so that you can type "figlet ?" and you will see the following
  19. template:

  21.    FONTNAME,DEUTSCH/S,CENTER/S,PARAGRAPH/S,COLUMNS/N,SMUSHMODE/N:

  23. You can specify the fontname (without using the keyword) and can
  24. specify any of the other keywords by putting the keyword on the
  25. command line.  For example:

  27.     FIGLET CENTER              Use the default font and
  28.                     center the text.
  29.  
  30.     FIGLET smslant COLUMNS 40    Use the smslant font and
  31.                     set the column width to 40.
  32.  
  33. (the keywords don't need to be upper case).

  35. Once you start the program, it will accept any input you type and
  36. print it's output back in the console.  A handy use for this program
  37. is to run it in a console window and try the various options
  38. until you get the text you want, and then cut it from the console
  39. window and paste it into whatever program you want it in.

  41. As Figlet itself changes, I will try and keep this port current.  The
  42. most current Amiga version will be found on Portal.  This Amiga port
  43. is by Steve Tibbett, and I take all credit for any bugs in this
  44. version - if you find a problem, please send the bug report to me,
  45. not to the original authors.  If it really is a problem with Figlet
  46. and not my port of it, then I will forward it to them.
